Career Fair Information for Employers

Five recruitment events are held annually on the UConn campus, giving employers several opportunities to connect with our students. This page provides detailed information for employers about each fair.

Career Fair

The University of Connecticut system enrolls over 21,000 students in 12 different schools and colleges with majors in approximately 90 different fields. These are bright undergraduate and graduate students who are completing challenging courses of study in preparation for a wide variety of careers. We invite you to meet them!

Career Fair Fact Sheet

When: Tuesday, September 23, 2008; 11:00am - 3:00pm

Where: Gampel Pavilion (Campus Map)

Who Attends: 150 Employers and over 1400 UConn undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni.

Cost: $550.00. This fee covers the cost for an 8’ x 8’ booth with 6’ table or 8’ table without booth, two chairs, draping, a company sign, parking, continental breakfast, and lunch. Up to 4 company representatives are included. Additional reps are welcome for an added cost of $20 per person.

Initial Mailing: Invitations will be extended to employers in June and July 2008. If you did not receive an invitation and are interested in attending, email your request to Tracy Anderson at career.fair@uconn.edu.

Final Mailing: A confirmation packet of information will be emailed to participating organizations as soon as payment is received and registration is approved.

Arrival: Employers may arrive and have access to the event floor beginning at 8:30 AM with the expectation that your booth will be set up by 10:15AM.

Dropping Off Supplies: There is a designated Drop Off area on Stadium Road, next to Gampel Pavilion and right before the entrance to the Parking Garage. Look for the Drop Off sign. Haulers will be available to take your materials to your booth. Please stop, unload, and park your vehicle in the garage, and then return to Gampel when you are ready to go to your booth. Haulers will take your materials back to the Drop Off location at the end of the Fair, where, after picking up your vehicle, you can return and load up. Haulers will not take materials into the Parking Garage.

Food: A Continental Breakfast will be available in the morning, lunch will be served from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, and refreshments and drinks will be available in the afternoon. A word of caution: Finding time to leave your booth and eat can be challenging if numbers of students are stopping by. Please plan accordingly.

Interviewing Students: There are no facilities to conduct in-depth interviews in Gampel Pavilion during the Fair. Students do not expect to be interviewed during the Fair. Participate in our On Campus Recruiting Program (for more information, click here) or set up candidate interviews at your site.

Giveaways: It's become a tradition. From tee-shirts to hats to the ubiquitous water bottles, students love to load up on your marketing goodies, so bring lots of good stuff.
